National Engineers Week Future City Competition
The National Engineers Week Future City Competition is a hands-on, real-world learning experience for middle school students to learn how engineers shape the world we live in today and tomorrow. Now in its 22nd year in the Northern California region and the 28th year nationally, Future City is recognized by the education and engineering communities as one of the nation’s leading programs for enabling students to make the connection between math and science to engineering through its real-world applications. Through the September – January program, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students work in teams to apply their imaginations and early engineering skills in math, science, and technology to design a realistic city of the future.
